Women With Balls

One year ago, Rep. Pat Schroeder addressed breast cancer advocates at NBCCF’s Annual Advocacy Training Conference Luncheon and proclaimed the gathered group “women with balls”. Well, we all knew immediately that we had a theme for our annual NBCCF bowling fundraiser!

So, on Saturday, April 26, we’ll be proving her point at the 3rd Annual STRIKE Breast Cancer Advocate Bowling Challenge, at Lucky Strike Lanes, 701 7th St NW in Washington, DC. from 6pm to 9pm.

We’ll be bowling strikes, spares and yes, even a few gutter balls, to raise money to support NBCCF programs, which train advocates to speak up and out about breast cancer and the important science, policy and health care issues that affect our lives. The event coincides with NBCCF’s 2008 Annual Advocacy Training Conference and takes place just at few blocks from the conference hotel.

I can’t wait to join other advocates for bowling, prizes (nobody loses here!), great food and cocktails, lots of laughs and just plain good fun for a really great cause!

Sign up as Bowler! Be a Woman with Balls! (T-shirts will be provided!) All you have to do is raise a minimum of $500! The first time I participated I was surprised how easy it was to raise the entry fee! Just ask friends, family, even coworkers to make contributions! I’ll bet anyone your first strike that they’ll be happy to sponsor pins, frames and games to raise your entry fee and support your commitment to NBCCF and to eradicating breast cancer!

Not a bowler? Not a problem!

Sign up as a cheerleader! Just raise a minimum of $250. You’ll be spared the bowling and be eligible for the Best Cheerleader prize! Bowlers need encouragement too!

Click here to download a sign-up form to bowl or cheerlead.

Can’t be there? You can still support NBCCF and Sponsor a Bowler! You can contribute online today!

However you participate, please help NBCCF STRIKE Breast Cancer on Saturday, April 26!

My name is Carol and I’m proud to be a Woman with Balls!
